“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going."-Jim Ryun
It's no secret that we are being bombarded with motivational quotes daily. You see them on your Facebook timeline, Instagram reels, Twitter feed and tik tok feed. You are told that you can smash that presentation, prepare that report and scale that target.
These quotes make you feel like Superman or superwoman, you feel like you can touch the sky just by jumping on your feet. I am sorry to burst your bubble but motivation without hard work can't get you anywhere.
A car without fuel/gas is useless; Likewise, a car that has fuel/gas but no engine is still worthless. This is to say that there are different components apart from motivation needed for success in life. One of which is HABITS.
What habits have you cultivated to help you on the road to success?
What habits have you cultivated to help you on the days you feel down?
Repetition is one of the fastest ways of learning anything or being a pro at any skill. Your brain loves it when you perform tasks repeatedly because this is how habits are formed. Habits will help you perform that task on days when you don't feel like doing anything.
Habits and discipline will help you persevere and see that dream to the finish line. For example, if you want to grow your business page; you can decide to post a certain type of content every Friday for your followers. As you do this repeatedly, you have formed a habit and you will feel like something is missing anytime you don't do this.
Habits don't have to be so official. It can be as little as making your bed immediately after you wake up, washing the dishes immediately after meals or meeting up with your friends every Sunday.
Though good habits are usually difficult to form, you can overcome this by taking action each day and on days when you don't want to be bothered with anything.
Cheers to the formation of good habits to propel you to your goals and don't forget that
H - honest work
A - acted upon
B - births
I - Intentional
T - top notch results
I would love to hear about one habit you have formed that helped you to achieve a goal.
