The Importance of Consistency is in Personal Growth
Imagine this scenario, an 11-month-old baby is just learning the ropes of learning how to walk; she falls repeatedly, gets up and tries again. Even though words of encouragement are given to spur the baby into action, it's still up to the baby to get up and take those steps.
After several weeks of consistent practice, that child can walk on her two feet with confidence.
CONSISTENCY.
You have probably heard this word a zillion times to the extent that you are tired of hearing it, it's so easy to throw the world about. Notwithstanding, consistency is one of the ingredients needed for personal growth in a career, business, family or relationship.
Your skill and talent can only take you to a distance but consistency will take you to the finish line. Being consistent can help you to;
1. Increase Productivity: The more you continue performing a task, the better you get at doing it and the more money you will make. Our brain is in a symbiotic relationship with repetition because it always gives positive results when we perform a task regularly that promotes our growth.
2. Improve Discipline: This goes both ways. Being disciplined makes you consistent and being consistent makes you disciplined. If you take a trip down memory lane, you will surely remember situations where discipline and consistency were the game changers in your life.
3. Be more Persistent: Perseverance is the mother of consistency, this is because the ability for you to keep pushing despite getting no results births consistency. The zeal to keep working hard is then imprinted into your DNA.
This is not to say that you shouldn't know when to pull the plug on a goal or know when to re-strategize and make new plans.
As you carry out your tasks this week, remember that life is a marathon, not a sprint.
